Access Advisory Council
The Access Advisory Council is a nine member council appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology.  The Council provides strategic advice and recommendations to the Minister regarding the objectives, operation and reporting of the Access to the Future Fund.

Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer
The Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) develops policies, guidelines and procedures to facilitate transfer agreements among Alberta's post-secondary institutions. It encourages negotiations, where appropriate, for programs and courses not presently covered by the transfer agreements. An updated Alberta Transfer Guide is printed annually in spring and the Online Alberta Transfer Guide is updated on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board
The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board provides advice to the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology on training and certification in designated trades and occupations, and on the needs of the Alberta labour market.

The Board's duties also include:

  • setting training and certification standards in all trades and designated occupations
  • appointing members of provisional committees, local and provincial apprenticeship committees, and occupational training committees
  • developing regulations (with the Minister's approval) for designated trades and designated occupations
  • developing policies to recognize training programs as equivalent to those provided under the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Act

Campus Alberta Quality Council
The Campus Alberta Quality Council (CAQC) reviews all proposals for new degree programs from both public and private institutions to ensure they are of high quality before they are approved. The Council also conducts periodic evaluations of approved degree programs to ensure that quality standards continue to be met.

Students Finance Board
The Students Finance Board advises the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology on matters relating to student financial assistance, under authority of the Students Finance Act. It also advises the Minister on scholarships under the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Act. The Board may also conduct investigations or research studies on issues relating to student financial assistance on the Minister's behalf.
